When you wake up on Black Friday morning still feeling stuffed full, think about stopping by the Roth JCC for what we’re calling, “The Work It Off Work Out.”
This morning of exercise on Nov. 23 will include an Interval Training class at 9 a.m. (I like to describe this as the friendlier version of Boot Camp), a lively Cardio Dance class at 10 a.m., and then a serene Yoga class at 11 a.m.
The whole morning costs just $10 (classes are normally $10 each); however, all classes are free for JCC members. Babysitting will be available by reservation in the JCC’s KidZone.
Jewish Film Festival
For a bit of culture, be sure to get your tickets early for the JCC’s 14th Annual Central Florida Jewish Film Festival in partnership with the Enzian Theater to be held on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 2 and 3. The films include “Foreign Letters,” “Portrait of Wally,” “Nicky’s Family” and “Mabul (The Flood).” To read descriptions of these films, see the trailers, or purchase tickets, visit enzian.org
‘Macaroni and Maccabees’
It’s hard to believe, but Hanukkah is right around the corner, beginning on Saturday night, Dec. 8. The JCC will be hosting a “Macaroni and Maccabees” family night on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. We’ll be serving macaroni, salad, traditional (and utterly delicious) potato latkes and jelly donuts. Join us to light the menorah, sing holiday music, hear stories and create edible art. The cost is $7 per person or free for JCC members.
School Out Days
By the way, if you have elementary school-age children who will be out of school during the week of Thanksgiving for break, but you still have to work, we’ll be hosting our School Out Days from Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 19-21. Let us show your children a day full of fun, with games, activities, snacks and more, and we’ll give you peace of mind. Drop offs begin at 7:30 a.m. and pick-ups end at 6 p.m.
To register for any of the JCC’s programs, visit us right there at the corner of Maitland Avenue and Maitland Boulevard, or call us at 407-645-5933.
