“Second Class Citizenship, Suffragists and Suffragettes, The 19th Amendment” – Join Michele Levy and Sandra Powers, co-presidents of the Orange County League of Women Voters, as they explore the history of suffrage for women from Abigail Adams, who urged her husband John, “Don’t forget the ladies,” to the Women’s Liberation movement in the 1960s.They will discuss Seneca Falls, N.Y., and how the abolition movement for women’s suffrage rose out of the abolition movement of the early 19th century. This free presentation will take place on Monday, April 21, at 10 a.m. in the University Club of Winter Park, located at 841 N. Park Ave.
